Murrells Inlet, South Carolina is known as a quiet little fishin’ town with a drinking problem. We LOVE this little town that we’re lucky enough to call home. Murrells Inlet is also known as South Carolina’s seafood capital which means if you like fresh seafood this is the place to be!

Here’s our list of 5 favorite places to grab a bite to eat!

1. Wahoos Raw Bar & Marina

Head on over to the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk to find Wahoo’s Raw Bar & Marina. This restaurant sits overlooking the very waters where your meal came from, likely just a few hours prior. If you’re like us, then you’re probably always on island time, and there’s no better place to chill out then Wahoo’s open-air tiki bar, or just hang out on the back deck and enjoy one of their  frozen cocktails while listening to live music and watching the fishing boats return to the dock.

2. Salt Creek Cafe

One of Murrells Inlet’s tastiest little cafe’s set under a giant live oak tree along the bypass. Salt Creek cafe focuses on cuisine from the creeks and swamplands of the Lowcountry rather than the sea. Featuring shrimp, crab and oyster dishes, all harvested from the local waters, Salt Creek Cafe creates seriously outstanding Southern dishes using fresh seafood, produce and meats. They also provide an extensive menu for land lovers ranging from pizza to meatloaf to grits.

3. The Crab Cake Lady

This tiny weathered yellow shack with a hand-painted sign in Murrells Inlet is the best place to get crab cakes! Although you can’t sit down and eat, you can order the famous creations of An Mathis Springs (aka- the Crab Cake Lady) who fishes daily for the crab that goes into her handmade cakes.

They also had a variety of seafood options like oysters, clams, crab cakes, and shrimp.

Located on the marsh walk this upscale/casual steakhouse gives visitors plenty of options, especially for those with a love of red meat. Bovine’s features mesquite-grilled dishes.
